The seal refuses to come out. I get to return a seal puller. Do they make these in heavy duty?

I’m going to try pliers, pulling and praying again. Otherwise it looks like I’m going to have to pull the oil pan down and pull off the timing chain cover to attack it from a new angle. At this rate I’m going to end up rebuilding the whole engine before I’m done.

Anyone have an extra LT4 cam laying around?

No idea about the seal puller. I don’t have an LT4 cam, but if the price is right I can sell you a whole Roadmaster ;)

VICTORY!

I can see why the seal failed. I wasn’t the first to have trouble with this seal. Not a big enough deal to warrant replacing the whole cover, but I can see why it would fail “prematurely” (after many dozens of thousands of miles)

If the optispark needs to be replaced I’ll probably replace it and the oil pan, the valve cover and intake manifold gaskets as well. What’s another dozen hours and seemingly a thousand dollars? *gag*

You get a gasket! You get a gasket! EVERYBODY GETS A GASKET!
